Tools & Materials
Crochet Pattern:
You will need the crochet pattern for Petra the Pterodactyl since this is the basis for Boo the Bat. Follow the instructions below for the modifications you need to make to each part!
You can buy the pattern for Petra the Pterodactyl from Etsy, Ravelry & Lovecrafts
Crochet Hooks:
2.0mm
You can use whichever hooks you have to hand but I like to use the Clover Amour hooks – they’re lovely to hold and super light so that you can keep crocheting for longer without your hands getting tired!
Yarn:
Ricorumi 035 – Midnight Blue – 100g (4 balls)
Ricorumi 017 – Lilac – 25g (1 ball)
Ricorumi 001 – White – Small amount
Alternative Yarns & Colours:
If you prefer to use a different yarn then go right ahead and use whichever you like! Just remember, that using a different yarn will probably result in your bat turning our at a slightly different size to mine.
If you want your bat to look as close as possible but can’t get hold of Ricorumi then I’ve listed the colour alternatives for Sirdar Happy Cotton and Scheepjes Catona here. The colours won’t be an exact match, but they are pretty close!
Ricorumi 035 (Midnight Blue) = Sirdar Happy Cotton 758 (School Days) = Scheepjes Catona 164 (Light Navy)
Ricorumi 017 (Lilac) = Sirdar Happy Cotton 769 (Unicorn) = Scheepjes Catona 226 (Light Orchid)
